He finished a graduate in Mathematics at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, and he received his Ph.D. degree from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. His research interests include topics in the field of privacy, computer security and cryptography with a special dedication to blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies. He coauthored over 100 research papers in both national and international conferences and journals, and he has participated as invited speaker at various conferences. He has been general chair and program chair in different security related conferences and editor of several volumes of the Lecture Notes in Computer Science. He has acted as a Principal Investigator in national and international projects, and he reviews research projects for the European Commission as well as for the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) and the Spanish Ministry of Science and Education.
