Partner universities are in the process of identifying the courses and students for the first pilot of the TeSLA which will be conducted in the Fall Semester of 2016. In order to describe the characteristics of the courses and the student population, partner universities were asked to fill in a questionnaire indicating the characteristics of their courses and students. Then, a series of online meetings were conducted with each partner university to discuss their responses and the process of selecting courses and students for the first pilot. After that meeting, partners then revised their responses to the questionnaire, finalising their description of the characteristics of the courses and students to be included in the first pilot.
Around 800 students on 20 courses from seven partner universities will participate in the first pilot. The student group is about 60% female, and 40% male, and includes a significant number of SEN and disabled students. The courses are at both undergraduate and masters level, in the areas of social science, humanities and technology, and are taught in Spanish, Dutch, Bulgarian, English, Turkish and Finnish.
Identifying the characteristics of the courses and student population is an ongoing process which will continue to evolve during the second and third pilots.
