This has been the slogan with which protOS and TeSLA have been presented in the event SIMO Education 2016, one of the largest technology event in the educational world that has took place in IFEMA Madrid last 19-21 October.

This year SIMO 2016 “Technology for the education, safety for your life “ has been focused on topics like educational innovation and its real applications, the need to promote the personalized learning, computational thinking in the classrooms, innovation in school and universities as a powerful tool to encourage the educational community to action and so on, just to mention only some of them.

Dozens of followers have been follow the hastag #Secure – “Do you need a Online Assessment and authorship secured to verify the identity of the students?”  TeSLA, an European Commission project and leadership by UOC, combines in one easy to integrate solution, state of the art technology to eliminate cheating in eLearning and to create more robust online education experiences

The facial recognition component, as the other instruments from TeSLA, can interoperate with any Learning Management System in the market. As simply as using the student’s videocamera. The powerful combination with other recognition and antiplagiarism components is what sets TeSLA different from any other similar initiative.

Examinations for disabled students that may not be able to attend a test centre are also supported thanks to advance and continuous voice recognition during a specific assessment.

Keystroke pattern matching and recognition allow for continuous and non-intrusive online assessments. Institutions and employers can now be certain of the identity behind each of their online users.

And this is just the beginning. TeSLA is designed as a highly granular and interoperable solution. Anti-plagiarism is one additional instrument to guarantee authorship by comparing any submitted document against vast databases of peer work and publicly available information.

Finally, teaching and learning online is as robust and secure as it is the traditional classroom.
