Following TeSLA project schedule, this academic course is going to start the first pilot in all seven universities involved in TeSLA. The universities are:

  • Open University (United Kingdom)
  • Open University of Netherland (Netherland)
  • Anadolu University (Turkey)
  • Jyväskylä University (Finland)
  • Open University of Catalonia (Spain)
  • Sofia University (Bulgary)
  • Technical University of Sofia (Bulgary)

The first pilot aims to test the protocol of communication among partners for pilots’ execution, the implementation protocol at partner level, and to select the most suitable activities for the e-assessment process at subject level. Seven universities are conducting this small-scale pilot with a sample of approximately 600 students during the first semester of the course 2016-2017.

Besides this main goal, for this first pilot key documentation was prepared. As we are conducting the teaching and learning process through the net by using an e-assessment system which will collect biometric data, several documents from the legal and ethical point of view have to be implemented to be sure that european but also national rules are followed in the pilot. On the one hand, in this sense, each institution participating in TeSLA pilot have signed an ethical approval assuring the main ethical principles in their institutions.

On the other hand, different consent forms were already prepared. The first one is to obtain the students consent to be part of the first pilot and accept us to collect personal data in an anonymous way, while the second one indicates that the collected data can be used for research purposes to improve the TeSLA System.

Once each student accepts this consent, the enrolment activities regarding the first pilot will start. It means that learning activities will include several ICT tools for collecting data during the assessment process in order to assure the authorship and the authentication of learners.

After finishing the first pilot all the information will be analysed in order to improve the second pilot, which will be held on next February. Next months, results will be provided through our website.
