EQANIE is the European Quality Assurance Network for Informatics Education, founded in January 209. EQANIE’s goal is to promote the implementation of quality assurance practice for informatics education systems in Europe and beyond.
EQANIE develops standards for the evaluation and quality assurance of informatics study programmes in higher education. Furthermore, it develops and maintains a system for the award of a European quality-label (Euro-Inf® Label) for informatics degree programmes which meet these standards, thereby facilitating mutual transnational recognition of programmes and mobility of students and graduates.
EQANIE’s main role in the project is in WP4 Quality Assurance in Online Higher Education. EQANIE will lead the identification of elements to be considered in an external quality assurance system, in particular quality indicators for the development of the pilots.
EQANIE will also participate in WP8 Pilots Evaluation and contribute to WP9 Communication, Dissemination, Liaisons and Exploitation by spreading the project results among its members in the European informatics community.
